Nature respects the time for sleeping, the time to wind down. Without an alarm clock, the sun rises and the night falls and all flowers and animals hear this prompt in a natural way. Humans hear this message too, but often decide to ignore it because of their societal affairs, contracts, and expectations.
Sleep is important for our wellbeing, for our beauty, and especially for our health and longevity. When we observe nature, we can see evidence of how everything functions so well and harmoniously inside out and all around.
After I became a mother, I started listening to my body and its needs, especially the importance of sleep. I no longer ignore it when I am tired and since I started listening, I wake up naturally, feeling fresh, renewed, and energised. I notice that it’s ok to leave all the duties aside when my body is speaking to me and asking me to rest. Just like magic, I get more time, energy, and a clear mind assisting me to do everything I want to do and more.
I remember that in my childhood there were no time markers or clocks and so there was no anxiety, the neighbors or visitors, the 4 seasons, the events and celebrations, the community work, and the harvest arrived on time, and I remember observing the joy in people’s faces. Life was easy because with Nature by our side everything functioned to its full potential. Without even knowing, we respected the clear messages from our ever-present natural world.
